Introducing Infinitus Church!

Infinitus Church is a newly emerging spiritual community with roots in the neurodiverse cultures. We are a digital-first (with plans for hybrid/in-person meetings in the future) global congregation.

We are independent, nondenominational, and self-propagating. Our vision is to cultivate church communities by, of, and for the neurodiverse, with our own leadership and ways of doing things. As this community grows, our plan is to decentralize the congregational leadership as much as practicable, making it evolve into a loose confederation (or "connexion") of autonomous basic units; a "movement" or "fellowship" rather than a "denomination."

News so far (updated on June 15, 2022):

  • Hello everyone! We're restarting this project from square one. In a sense, the previous attempt was a false start. When it was first conceived in September 2021, a lot of things were in flux due to COVID (Delta and then Omicron), and at the same time, I was in the middle of moving. I had to put this and other ministry-related matters on the back burner while I resettled and regained my strengths.

  • "The Expeditioners' Church" was a kind of okay name, that came up after a long brainstorming and playing on the word "geographic" (as in Mind Geographic). But something didn't quite sound right. So now it's going to be Infinitus Church moving forward. The "expeditioners.one" domain name will not be renewed and it will be retired upon expiration in September.

  • Infinitus, according to the Wiktionary, is a Latin word meaning infinite, boundless, unlimited, and endless. In the sense of "boundless," it continues to play on the geographer-expeditioner theme, while the infinity sign has been widely accepted within the neurodivergent community as its symbol, so it is quite appropriate considering our missions.

  • We are looking for the most efficient ways to get connected online. Considering that not everyone has constant access to broadband or a device that packs great computing power, we are considering an official, private Telegram group (There are several Telegram apps available, including a CLI version for older/slow Linux computers, as well as the Web-based version that can be accessed from smartphones or from public libraries), an email newsletter, and maybe an online forum.
